Are You Still Sanitising – 5 Tips Why You Should Be

Now that we have been “back to normal” for some time now have your covid standards of sanitising slipped?

It is very easy for germs / bacteria to spread & grow in our working environment as we are working with people’s hands & feet. We need to make sure that we are still following the strict cleaning routines we practiced during the covid pandemic.

I am going to talk you through my top 5 tips on how to maintain this standard.

1. Cleansing hands prior to treatments taking place, getting you & your clients to wash their hands before they sit in the chair is a great way to start off your treatment, it removes any dirt / debris that may be on the hands / under the nails, this will stop it passing onto you & your tools.

2. Sterile pouches are amazing to keep your tools sanitised & ready to go for your appointments, making up little packs for each of your appointments is good to getting organised & keeping everything sterile, after you have cleaned your tools simply pop them in the pouch & seal it ready for your appointment.

3. Keeping your workspace clear as you are working, it is good practice to keep your area clean & clear as you are working, the less things you & your clients come into contact with the better. Cross contamination can happen so easily in the nail environment so if we keep as much away as possible it saves us a job when it comes to the post appointment clean down.

4. Cuccio’s antibacterial cleansing spray is an all rounder & is a staple in my kit, you can clean all your tools & your nails with it, simply spray & wipe dry then you are good to go.

5. Giving yourself time to clean down between each client is important, you need a good 5-10 minutes to get everything back to a clean sanitised standard ready for your next client, it is all well & good having a clean before you start the day & when you finish but you need to be thinking off all the things you come into contact with during the day, keep on top of it as the day goes.
