How to Use Cuccio Pro Universal Rubber Base Coat

Step 1: Nail Preparation

Prep the Cuticles: Gently push back the cuticles and remove any non-living tissue from the nail plate.
Shape & Buff: File the natural nail into the desired shape. Lightly buff the shine off the natural nail surface using a fine buffer (240-grit) to ensure optimal adhesion.
Dehydrate & Cleanse: Thoroughly cleanse the nail plate with a dehydrator or prep solution (e.g., Cuccio Veneer Prep) to remove dust, oil, and moisture.

Step 2: Primer/Bond Application

Apply Dehydrator/Fuse: Apply a thin layer of primer/bonding agent (e.g., Cuccio Veneer Fuse) to the natural nail.
Air Dry: Allow to air dry completely for 30 seconds (no lamp needed).

Step 3: Rubber Base Application & Structure

Thin Contact Layer: Apply a very thin slip layer of Cuccio Pro LED/UV Universal Soak-Off Rubber Base over the entire nail plate. Do not cure yet.
Apex & Reinforcement (Optional): Pick up a small bead of rubber base on the tip of the brush. Place it near the center of the nail plate and guide it gently side-to-side down toward the free edge to fill in ridges, create a smooth apex, and add extra strength.
Cap the Free Edge: Wipe the brush edge along the tip of the natural nail to seal the free edge.

Step 4: Curing

Cure: Place the nails into an LED lamp for 30–60 seconds (or 2 minutes in a traditional UV lamp).
Tip: Because rubber base is slightly thicker, use a low-heat mode on your LED lamp if your client experiences heat spikes.

Step 5: Gel Polish & Top Coat Application

Apply Gel Colour: Do not wipe the tacky layer off the cured base coat. Apply 2 thin coats of your preferred gel polish color, curing each layer for 30–60 seconds.
Apply Top Coat: Finish with a gel top coat (e.g., Cuccio Veneer Top), cap the free edge, and cure according to manufacturer instructions. Wipe off any sticky residue if using a wipe-off top coat.

Step 6: Removal (Soak-Off)

Break the Seal: Gently buff off the shine from the top coat layer using a 180-grit file.
Soak Off: Wrap nails in acetone-soaked cotton pads and foil/clips for 10–12 minutes.
Gently Remove: Use a cuticle pusher to gently glide the softened product off the natural nail. Rubber base breaks down quickly, reducing total removal time.
